Hello,

My name's Gwyn Loader and I work as a reporter for a Welsh-language current affair programme called 'Y Byd ar Bedwar' which translates as 'The World on Four'. We're currently investigating the website getsporting.com who've been scamming customers wishing to buy rugby world cup tickets. I see you've posted a review of this site and wondered whether you'd be willing to share your experiences with me? If so, please get in touch by emailing *******@itv.com.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Gwyn.

Do not hand over your cash. You will never see it again.

The address on Invoice issued by this website as their registered business address is false. They use a high profile London address at: Number 1, Royal Exchange, London, EC3V 3LT, United Kingdom to make it look legitimate. They don't even have a business or office registered at that address.

They are not registered for VAT in the UK. But are banking the cash to a UK bank account for their ticket sales. Could be money laundering or funding terrorism with the proceeds of their bogus ticket sales.

There is no business or company registered to this website. Only an individual using a free email address out of the USA to set up and register the domain and the website is hosted in the Netherlands and not the UK where the website says it is based.

The "guarantee" they claim in their Terms & Conditions is not worth the paper it is written on as there is no registered business or company you can go after when your tickets don't arrive.

Also -- they claim to be able to sell you large numbers of tickets for the Rugby World Cup 2015 all sitting together. The RFU says this is not possible through secondary agents (unofficial touts like: getsporting.com) as the number of tickets any one member of the public could buy are limited and you need to be registered to obtain tickets. In short -- they don't have the tickets in hand they claim to be selling.

The RFU also says that it will cancel any tickets bought from unofficial sources for more than the original face value. The website offers a large discount for cash payments directly into the bank account they provide. This is part of the scam as there is no recourse when your tickets don't arrive. Be very, very careful.
