The idea sounds great, right? Enter your data once and get a bunch of insurance quotes, kind of like searching for airline tickets. Not quite. Every link you click takes you to a fresh page where you essentially start from ground zero filling in your information... again. The only actual quotes I got were from high-risk or drive by the mile or ridiculous priced insurance.
Be careful... if you think you are starting a simple process of getting competitive insurance quotes, think again. Simply speaking no insurance company will give you a quote without all of your detailed information. What you enter in the EverQuote website is just the beginning. Each insurance company will ask you to add even more of your personal information over and over again. Also, you are now on the call list with many telemarketers that your phone will go off like a pachinko machine when you hit the jackpot. Of course you gave them the permission to contact you, just don't do it! Youll have to provide your DOB, SS#, home address, detailed vehicle info and much more.
I got 13 calls in 43 minutes four of them from everquote themselves I explain to them that I was busy and didn't have time to talk yet my voicemail kept getting messages my phone keeps ringing and my email is now full
They tell you to put your information into their site and they'll do all the comparisons for you absolutely untrue if you give ever-cool any of your information they will use it to harass you and sell the insurance companies your information
EverQuote advertises on-line that once you enter your automobile insurance and personal information, you will never have to do it again and they will transmit all your info to automobile insurance companies that will contact you with lower automobile insurance rates. That is a lie. I have had to repeat over and over again all my info to various companies and finally gave up. And, after checking them out on the Better Business Bureau web site, I see that they answer all their complaints with double speak. Never addressing the issue of false advertising. I did file a complaint with the BBB.
Didn't remember my first time trying this site. Stupid me.
Today, tried it again after reading what appeared to be a legitimate description of how it was a great new CA up - and - coming offering that helps you, via an "algorythim" set by young math genious', to bypass the usual consumer time and headache involved with comparing insurance quotes.
What a joke! Took way too long to provide way too much detailed personal info after which I got one singular quote for 4X what I am currently paying.
I cringe/kick myself re: spending the amount of time and disclosing the amount of personal info for what? Nothing, zippo, just feeding another site with personal info they can use for their own personal benefit and against consumers.
This company is a JOKE! As soon as I clicked on the Next button after giving my phone number, Everquote called me three times within a five minute time frame. This site gives a bad name to legitimate small businesses!
They asked a lot of questions, including your phone number. Next to your phone number they say they respect your privacy. That was a BIG FAT LIE. I had barely hit enter and I started receiving calls. With in 5 minutes, 3 places had called me. They gave me a list of 3 companies but no quotes were included. I had to go to the companies web-site and reentered my information (which I did not do) in order to get a quote. No thank you. And they are spamming me hard. Stay away from this company.
Ever quote takes all you information and then dumps you into progressive insurance for you quote... BS. Have tried it several times just to make sure. Yep... dumps you right into progressive with no additional quotes forthcoming!
Where are the web cops when you need them (This site should not have a license to operate on the internet) Doesn't get any worse than this. Stay away!
Site is very user friendly, very professionally constructed, until you get the end results.
Agree with an earlier review (Sarah) Nothing but a scam to gather database information and then links to insurance companies where you have to start all over entering the info repeatedly for each company. Absolute waste of my time and left feeling ripped off for personal information

This site is a scam. After providing vehicle and driver information, no quotes were received. The links claiming to provide quotes were to Insurance company web sites where you have to start from scratch and initiate a quote. Ridiculous waste of time.
I used this site to see if I could get a better price on insurance. I'd been with Geico, but after speaking with 2 insurance agents was able to lower my bill by $500.
They will literally render your accounts unusable. You do not get insurance quotes.
You are a target not a client. They only collect your information to sell it to insurance companies and ANYONE and EVERYONE else who will pay for it. Makes your entry on 'do not call lists' pointless.
While the site does try to gather insurance ratings for you, you actually open up your phone and email to be bombarded by insurance ads. Within 30 minutes of submitting a quote, I was called 10 times, but 10 different companies and received quotes from the same 10 companies. Then when I got down to business, I was actually not saving any money, because the process doesn't take everything into account.
Answer: I don't know for sure, but they certainly shared my info with malicious robocalling scammers that bugged the ever living crap out of me. They do share quotes but it wasn't helpful to my use case.
