DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! The online quote that is presented when you put your device information is nowhere close to what they will offer you no matter how good a condition your device is in. After sending in your device, the company will send you a completely ridiculous lowball figure that they will value your device at. You have to call in and haggle with their "purchasing rep" who will continue to lowball you until you end up getting them to give you half of what the online quote was if you're lucky.
In my case I sent in two devices. The first was dealt with in the manner above and I ended up just taking their lowball amount because it just wasn't worth the pain of dealing with these people anymore.
In the second case, I sent in an iPhone 5 that was in excellent condition. When I say excellent, I mean I hadn't ever dropped the phone, no scratches or anything on the screen since I religiously used a screen protector and case. The phone itself was working great and the only reason I stopped using it was because I had upgraded to a 6 Plus but kept the 5 around as a backup in case I ever needed it. After sending my phone in and receiving the usual ridiculous quote and trying to haggle with them, I asked them to send me my phone back as my niece had just damaged her phone and I thought that I could let her use my old phone since it was in great condition and their trade-in value was a joke. When I got the phone back it was completely damaged. The screen and LCD had lifted up from the casing and the casing itself was dented. I called the company and after explaining my issue, I was told that the issue would be escalated to someone in "management". After not hearing anything after a couple of weeks, I called again and was told that they were still working on it and that someone would get back to me. Well after more than a month and numerous follow-ups, I called again today and was flatly told that the phone was damaged when they received it and it was not their responsibility. WTF? I used the packing materials that their company sent me to pack my phone in. I don't believe for a second that the phone was damaged in transit - especially because the other device that I sent in with it (an iPad 2) was fine and even though I was lowballed, I still was able to return it for some cash. If the package had been mishandled in transit, both devices would have been affected.
This company is a total SCAM in so many ways! Their customer service (or lack of) is deplorable. Initially I had told my sister and a couple of friends about them because when I got the initial online quote they had some of the best trade-in values and everyone I know has some old devices lying around that need to be sold/recycled. I've definitely learned my lesson and will NEVER use this company again and I'll make sure that everyone I've told about it knows how HORRIBLE and DISHONEST this company is.
The company operates under multiple aliases (Cashforlaptops, CashforiPhones, SellYourCell, etc) and scams people for their devices. If you're worried about not getting your device back or getting the money you want for it, please follow the steps below.
1. Avoid at all costs, if you have not shipped already. Save yourself the trouble and just use another site or sell your device yourself. You'll be grateful in the end!
2. If shipped, log into their online system and keep aware of updates of your device and the emails they send sometimes go to SPAM for no reason. You DO NOT want to lose any updates (emails) they send as this will cause you to lose your device.
3. READ READ READ their Terms & Conditions on their website. When they receive your device, you'll get an email that says Device Received, but wait until you receive the Device Inspected & Valued email. This is where they will LOWBALL the sh*t out of you! However, in their T&C's, you MUST CALL THEM WITHIN FIVE (5) DAYS! Remember this, CALL THEM, not email, CALL them to discuss the offer within FIVE (5) DAYS. Actually MAKE IT FOUR (4) DAYS so they don't ignore your calls on the 5th... and this is NOT BUSINESS DAYS!
4. Once you call them, they will hassle you to let them keep your device and increase the offer without justification. This is where you can decide what is your selling threshold, do you take their increased price or not, it's up to you. HOWEVER, if you feel they are not making an effort you can DECLINE their final offer, and they MUST return your device in the same condition as sent according to their T&C's.
My Experience: I was quoted $881 for my Macbook Pro 13" Mid-2015 2.7 GHz laptop on Cashforlaptops. I received an offer of $136, WHAT THE H*LL! I called to get my device back and the offer went from $136 to $450 to $560 with no justification. This goes to show they are truly trying to prey on people wanting to get money for their devices and scam them out of paying them the original quote. I got my laptop back and sold it to a legit site.
If you're looking for a good site to sell used devices (phones or laptops) try using the eBay Valet program to sell it.
When I checked Ecycle web site on 4/12/2015 I was quoted $241.00 and agree to send my phone to Ecycle.
Today 04/29/2015 16:50 CST I got an E-mail from Ecycle informing me my phone value was $31.00. Immediately I checked Ecycle web site and was quoted $228.00 for my phone.
I responded to the E-mail quote from Ecycle to have my phone returned to me. Not possible.
Thank you for your email. I understand you would like to have your device returned. All returns must be requested over the phone with our purchasing department not through emails. Please contact our Purchasing department at *******143. Mon-Fri 6am-4PM
After waiting on hold for 28 minutes for the purchasing department Melanie informs me after reviewing my account my phone had scratches on the battery cover and on the phones frame. From the day I bought the phone it was put into a LifeProof Waterproof and Shockproof case. When I asked Melanie how it was possible the fame could get scratched Melanie gave me the hard sell that I would not get a better deal on my phone. I requested to speak with a manager and Melanie spoke over me and said my phone would be mailed back to me and hung up.
I called Ecycle back and spoke with Denise. I asked to speak with a manager. Denise asked me for my account number. I advised Denise I did not have an account number. Denise informed me she was unable to connect me to a manager without an account number.

DON'T DO IT! cashforiphones.com – ecyclebest.com – cashforlaptops.com - I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt from all of their bad reviews. I even called in before to make sure they would give what they offered and was told that if I described it properly that they would for sure, $203 for the iPhone 5 32GB and $171 for the iPhone 4S 32GB. Low and behold after lots of automated phone calls and automated emails telling me time was running out to get the phones sent in (as they were on their way) I got an email offering me $9 for a full functional and looking like new iPhone 5 and $8 for a full functional and looking like new iPhone 4S. An email arrived on Thursday evening saying that I had 3 days to deny the offer but I had to call in. I promptly called in the next morning and after long waits on hold and transfers I finally got to someone. And guess what – she said that it had already been processed and the $10 and $8 would automatically be paid through PayPal. I called her bluff and said I wanted the phones back and after much arguing back and forth she agreed to start that process. After that I continued to get automated emails/phone messages that I still have time to accept the $8 & $10 for my phones. I had called to see if my phones had been shipped back but they keep telling me that it is in the process. Four days later still phones or confirmation that they have been sent back. I have called in (with a message that they are having high call volumes) and finally got to someone and asked to speak to a supervisor. Guess what, on hold for a long time to tell me that a supervisor was not available, and that one could not call me back. She said if I had a complaint to go to their website to file it. Well I'm not going to file a complaint with them I'm going to go other avenues as they don't care.
I would be embarrassed to work for such a company and don't understand how someone like this can stay in business. I don't know why I would even waste my time to point this out on such an unprofessional company that to me are scammers. But, if it saves someone else from being scammed then I am happy for taking the time to write this. I have used gazelle in the past and have been paid what was quoted in a professional and courtesy way.

After using device recycler's/reseller's like Gazelle, Glyde and NextWorth in the past for selling my old mobile devices and having good success with them, I decided to try a new name that popped up on Google this time around: ECycleBest.
On January 13th, they gave me an estimate of $107 on their website for my iPhone 4S 64GB which was a bit high but I thought if I got half that after inspection, it would still be better than Gazelle, which offered me $30. My experience with these sites in the past is that they have never lowered their initial offer to me after inspection. I have always shipped them clean, formatted phones in great condition so I haven't had reason to worry. I figured ECycleBest would be no different.
On January 20th, we shipped the phone out after receiving a box from ECycleBest to ship it in on the 17th. I received an email from them on January 23rd that the phone was received and would be inspected shortly. Saturday January 25th I received that fateful email that it seems so many other of ECycleBest's customers have gotten. They said the final offer for my phone was $8 and that it was fair and per their Terms & Conditions. The following is some of the very misleading text of that email:
"After carefully inspecting your device by hand, seeing its condition, and following up-to-the-minute market conditions—you're owed $8 for the device."
"This is the same amount we'd pay everyone else for the same device right now, and it follows the Terms & Conditions we agreed upon when you sent your device."
"No more waiting around; our accounting team is processing your cash right now, and within 3 business days we'll be sending you your PayPal payment."
---
There were no links in the email on how to contact them to dispute my evaluation even though I had read their Terms & Conditions and knew full well that I had 3 days to contest this low-ball offer (i. E. the 3 business days they say in the email that they have to wait to give me my precious $8).
This is when the real fun began. I started calling their Customer Service number on Monday, January 26th, the first business day that I was able to. I called first thing at 7am PST and was told there was an "unusually high call volume" by an automated message. I spoke to a live CS rep after on hold a few minutes who informed me of the same and added that Mondays were their busiest day. I was put on hold to wait to talk to their Purchasing Dept. to dispute my claim. After 10 minutes of waiting, my call was ended and the automated message told me to call back after 1pm PST. I called back 4 more times that day, only to get the same results. Forwarded to Purchasing, kicked off the line. On my last call they claimed that the Purchasing Dept. was having technical difficulties and had left for the day.
I tried back on Tuesday, January 27th 4 more times and tried to get them to let me talk to a manager. They put me on hold and the system kicked me off again. Today was the last day I tried to call (theoretically, the last of my 3 days to contest) and the CS reps were very short with me both times and put me on hold before I had finished asking for assistance.
There were only 2 reps that I spoke to, Brittany & Tabitha, and both had been trained very well. I asked them how much longer I had to dispute and they said that today was my last day. I questioned how I could possibly be held to their bogus T&C when I had been trying feverishly to contact their Purchasing Dept. They said their system indeed kept track of the many times I had tried to contact them. They seem unconcerned and told me that it was just a high call volume and didn't think it was a problem on their end.
At best, these guys are ill-prepared for the type of business they run and at worst they are very illegally scamming innocent consumers. After calling them 10 times and receiving no assistance whatsoever in my claim, I fully believe the latter. ECycleBest needs to be shut down.
Absolutely avoid. Use any other service but this total ripoff.

These are all the websites that the company does business under and it is a SCAM! Do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANY OF THESE SITES.
I will tell you my story and how I had to file a Better Business Bureau Complaint in order to receive a call from this company and additional payment for my device. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU WILL GET FULL PAYMENT FOR YOUR DEVICE IF YOU HAVE USED THIS COMPANY OR ANY OF THESE WEBSITES THAT I KNOW OF! The more complaints the lower their rating becomes and that is the only way to stop them, so far. ALSO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE SPARKS POLICE DEPARTMENT IN NEVADA and tell your story as they are now beginning to pile up and looking into this business. ALL OF THESE WEBSITES ARE LISTED IN THE BBB, but the TRUE COMPANY NAME IS LAPTOP & DESKTOP REPAIR, LLC. My story is below as copied from MY BBB complaint...
Quoted me $157 for the sale of my IPhone 4S ONLY paid me $24 without AGREEMENT or conversation. NEVER WAS ABLE TO CONTACT ANYONE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I found eCycle Best online to sell my IPhone for some extra cash and was quoted $157 after following the prompts for the model and make of the phone and the condition of the phone. Since the phone was in mint condition and had hardly been used, I was satisfied with the quote and confident that this would be a quick transaction. This was not the case, I did not hear anything from the company for weeks and attempted contacting customer service with no success, I either got the "heavy call volume" queue or a busy signal through the other telephone number offered to consumers. I then decided to log onto the website and found that they had posted a message into my account in there, without sending any emails to my personal account. Any normal person would not know to log into this account on a regular basis to find messages, especially when they specifically tell you that they will be sending you an email to the address you provide. Evidently they needed the password to gain access to the phone, which I had forgotten to delete, and I responded to the e-mail and provided the password to them. Luckily, I received an email to my personal email account letting me know that they had received the email and would be sending the device back to inspection which normally takes 24-48 hours to complete and to expect a phone call or email with the results and to expect payment shortly thereafter(the next business day). I did not receive a phone call or voice mail nor did I receive an e-mail from them confirming completion of the inspection, I only received an email from Paypal stating that I had received $24 for my IPhone. I attempted to contact the company as I this was well below the original quote and I did not accept this price for the sale of my device, as the device is in mint condition and I either want the device sent back to me or the full amount of $157 deposited into my Paypal account. I have left several messages with them and still have not received a response from them. I have also sent emails to them to this regard, and have not received any response. I logged into my online account and noticed that they have also deleted all of the internal email correspondence regarding the sale of my IPhone in an attempt to erase the transaction history. Luckily, the customer service rep responded to my personal email so I do have documentation from the internal account over in my personal email which they cannot touch. According to the companies procedures, once inspection is completed, they follow up with an email or telephone call to ensure that both parties are still willing to engage in the sale of the device. However, this did not happen and this I can see has happened to over 328 others (maybe more, as those are the ones who have filed complaints here). Additionally, this company is only licensed as a Laptop and desktop repair company and is not licensed to buy these products online, nor do they have a fictitious name license on file in Sparks. This a clear violation of their business license.
Quoting a customer $157 for a device which is clearly in mint condition and then reducing that price by 85% without communication or offering to return the device is criminal, especially across state lines. As stated in the "how the system works", the consumer will be offered to have the device returned if they do not agree to the final offer if it is not the same as the original price quoted. I have seen several complaints on here which could constitute criminal actions on behalf of this company due to the pattern of business practice and "resolution".
