Discovery Channel

I've been using the Discovery Plus app on Roku since June and at first, it was OK, but the last month is a disaster; constant freezing and kicking me out of the app. One example - I was watching Ghost Adventures and got kicked out 5 times during that episode. I'm hoping Sling adds Animal Planet to their line-up, but even if they don't, I am very close to unsubscribing.

When I sign on to Discovery+ the first thing that appears on the screenare a list of programs that are, according to the site, "for me." What a joke! I would NEVER, EVER watch the crap they say is "for me." Under the heading "For You" I would expect to see the names of progrsams I've watched in the past, not some stupid program they want to pitch.
Besides this complaint - & it IS a complaint - I find their way of presenting their offerings confusing. Certainly not user friendly. I left a program last night & when I came back to the site tonight it took me to episode 1 of the first season instead of episode 2 of the 2nd season, where I left off. Seriously considering spending my money elsewhere. There's definitely more here I DON'T want to watch.

As for a proof of purchase, Discovery provided nothing & they just charge my credit card every month.

I got a gift trial and sent it for 30 days and Discovery plus will not honor it they pointed it back at me saying that I used the wrong plastic card, which is not true and now when I try to sign in with another card they say they will not accept the promo code. Horrible company and I do not plan to do any business with them in the future.

I used to like the show moonshiners but nowadays it's a soap opera it's fake as $#*! it's completely obvious that it's fake as $#*!, I know this guy started off real and I still love this guy's but just just cut the show already

Are new for most of the shows that are on food network and that kind of upsets me if I'm paying for something I should have the new episodes of shows that I watch. If they aren't new pretty soon I'm just going to cancel.

I'm sick of discovery plus! The show are great but there's always a lagging issue or it kicks me off and it happened so much I never get to watch anything so I sure don't want to be paying for something I can't use. Ever since day 1 I've had issues and I finally canceled my subscription. I don't mind paying for something if it's worth it.

Like everything "woke", the message is rammed down the throat of the viewer with a constant carpet-bombing of left-wing ideology mixed with continuous advertisements for the "plus" service. Even though most of the advertisements between content is pushing the "plus" service, Discovery feels the need to plaster ads within the content. Often times the in content ads block most of the screen. I pay extra for the tier which contains the Discovery content, now that content is being corrupted by Discovery. To me, this is a breach of contract. I purchased the right to see clean content without embedded advertising. Discovery is deliberately reneging on that agreement. As for the hate America first content, move to Cuba if you like living under a socialist dictatorship. I like my freedom and I respect the great history of America.

The Discovery Channel has "discovered" the worst of the worst ability to annoy and incense viewers of some of their programs with incessant, long, tedious and monotonous promos of their steaming service that seem to be shown every moment of every day. Buy from one of their "stars"--no way. They ought to be ashamed of themselves as they lower themselves to the standards of greedy management and the intolerable "plus" service that isn't even that good.

Even on the most popular programs like ninety day fiancé half the time is repetition of past weeks' footage - not even re-edited just lazily copied over and over. It seems like a half hour so called " new " program is made out of a five minute conversation - and then we the audience are asked to sit through up to fifteen or sixteen interminable ads just to be bored to tears again.

I would never pay for Discovery plus - I'm actually thinking of giving up TV altogether due to lack of meaninful interesting programming. You're BORING me into getting a life lol even during Covid!

The show lineup is trash. The BLM ads are not needed All lives matter. Stay out of politics and go back to entertaining that is why people tune in

I used to love watching Discovery networks. Now all they do is trash "shock" shows. From the molesting Duggars to "Sister Wife" nonsense, I can't even stand watching things like Motortrend TV due to the trashy promos. I know I used "trash" a lot in this review, but it's the best word to describe Discovery now!

Taking shows normally on regular channels and putting them on a pay streaming channel is crap!
A lot of these shows are going to be unfollowed and forgotten. Your shoving it down our throats by all the advertisements and overlays sucks and drives us the other way.

I'm a DirecTV subscriber and ever since this Discovery plus came out all my fav. Shows have been pulled from regular programming and put on D+. Like Ghost Adventures, Mountain Monsters, Portals To Hell and so on. You up your price for the umbrella of channels to my satellite provider which they pass on the price to me and then you pull my favorite shows from your programming. Why not keep your streaming service and whoever wants to pay for it pays for it. But still show the programming on regular satellite and cable TV like it used to be and everybody wins.

We signed up for discovery to watch one show we perused the site to see if we would be interested in watching more, we were not, to watch one show we were required to get a subscription, when we went to cancel there was no way to cancel apparently we signed up with Roku we hit the star button on Roku so we could manage subscriptions but there was no manage subscriptions choice, I emailed them several times and finally got one response back that said they were sorry to see us go but they would cancel it, one week later, today, they charged my account I am livid! I left a message on one phone number that I actually got through after researching phone numbers to get a hold of them and I emailed the person back who said they would cancel it, this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would never sign up for discovery again.

Also, I tried to post a review on the Better Business Bureau and I was not able to.

ID is my very favorite channel but the constant advertising for Discovery+ makes my head hurt! If I want it, I'll get it but the constant, non-stop advertising makes me NOT want to get it!

So, how long is it gonna be before the Discovery Channel takes all of it's programs off of regular TV and makes us pay for everything With their "PLUS" networks...? It's coming! Thank goodness for Prime TV and Hulu.

This is not a black and white nation and if you really want to be technical neither one belongs here the native Americans are the ones who really owen this land the white man came here and took what was not theres and almost wiped us out and then brought the black man from his land so neither one really belongs here so stop making it look like this is a black and white America because all you are doing is pissing a lot of people off oh and how come the native Americans dont have a native Awareness month oh because you think that all that live here are black people and white people this goes out to all the broadcasting stations get a grip and realize what you are putting out there

It is unconscionable that Discovery has chosen to move content those of us with cable or satellite have been paying for already to Discovery + exclusively. What- we're supposed to pay extra for the same content now? This shows a complete lack of respect for consumers who are smart enough to know that all the "streaming" platform costs add up when coupled with internet service and are no less expensive in the end than having cable or satellite. Is this being driven by disputes with cable/satellite providers over cost? Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water...
