I've been a subscriber to Rock & Gem magazine since the late 1970's. It still is the first thing I read when a new issue arrives. I've gone to a few of the recommended collection areas highlighted in the magazine, and have not been disappointed once. Each article grabs my interest right from the start and all through the whole thing. If I didn't LOVE Rock & Gem magazine, do you think I would still be a subscriber after 45 years? I can't say that about any other magazine I've ever subscribed to.
Rock & Gem magazine IS A GEM!
This magazine is great! I've been a subscriber almost from it's start in the 1970's. They have great field trips, lots of beautiful photos, wonderfully written articles covering old and new finds, gem cutting info...just tons of interesting things relating to rocks, minerals and gems. If I didn't LOVE the magazine, would I still be a subscriber after almost 50 years?! I have every issue since I first subscribed. That should speak volumes on how much I enjoy this magazine!

My kid loves it
I have a rock-obsessed child who loves getting this magazine. Quality of the magazine and writing aren't great but it is making my kid happy and that was the goal!

This is a great magazine to keep out and look at and read! Knowledge of the subject is not necessary and offers a great escape with some good pictures too!

Good magazine for rock and gem geeks
Not what I expected.
This magazine is for the gem club that writes it. I appreciate the pictures, which I believe are made for each of the members to pat each other on the back. High dollar hobbie for high dollar patronage.
