I purchased this subscription because Outside's online content is so good. I thought the print publication would provide even more high-quality, in-depth articles. What a disappointment! The long articles ere irrelevant to outdoor pursuits (returning a WWII era sword to deceased owner's family over 70 years later?). Absolutely will not renew print subscription, but still very much enjoying their online content.
I have always enjoyed reading Outside magazine. The articles are always interesting and informative. The gear reviews are helpful in picking new equipment. I love the pictures of beautiful places and adventures. It's overall a great read.
I've been getting my son-in-law this magazine for several years - it is the only gift he really wants.
Great reviews on varied locations. I especially like the product reviews and the focus on not the top dollar items.
Product review issues are excellent. Like to read most of the articles; they are interesting and well written.
I really like the comprehensive product review issues.
Love all the articles.
This is the best outdoors oriented magazine I have found. They have lots of info on trails, hikes, sports, and general things to do in nature. I am always saving stuff from it for future use. #sweepstakes
Love the articles and tips on places to hike and be outdodrs.
Enjoy reading...
Outside has some great photos and stories. I really like to write down some of the places that are featured, to keep in my travel file.
Only alternative to Backpacker magazine. I can no longer get a subscription for that. It tells you good places to go but not dedicated to backpacking.
I really enjoy the adventure stories and articles about extreme sports. Unfortunately, more space is now devoted to describing luxurious and/or expensive trips. I think encounters with wildlife would be more interesting.
Great Out dorr Life. While cooped insde.
It has been years since I read Outside. I am pleasantly reminded that the writing goes beyond the subjects. The writing style keeps me reading lengthy articles that I normally pass over in favor of looking at the pictures.
Love the articles, pertinent gear reviews, appropriate advertising, would love to see a how to train for_____ page (front/back) and also a feature full page picture of scenery, action or something of the like. Be an Outsider!
It's been many a couple of decades since I last subscribed to Outside - but it's as good as ever. Love the great discounted rate!
It gives you great ideas for planning an outdoor adventure.
Good magazine but doesn't seem to have much for older readers.
I teach a high school class called Adventure & Survival- this is THE source for highly engaging, well-written articles for my students! I myself subscribed to Outside as a high school student- decades of appreciation. Thanks to all the writers and adventurers :)
