They are "blackout"…
Out of the three, these are the first roller shades I have bought that are truly "blackout". With that said, I did purchase the piece that attaches inside to prevent light from shining in through the edges of the shade. These are my first shades purchased with this company therefore, I was not sure what to expect.
First, they don't unroll evenly so I had to play around with the roller and the slack to see how I could adjust and fix that. Second, the chain to roll the shade up and down did not come with the piece to secure the chain down. I believe if that were installed, that would assist with the slack and unevenness in the shade. Thankfully, I only bought these for two small windows to give it a try. Jury is still out as to whether I will purchase more for the windows in my home that would benefit from a blackout shade.
