This website is such a scam it's ridiculous. They lie about how much they're charging you. They claim it's only a $5 fee but they don't say anything about the additional $65 that they charge you on top of that. They definitely don't mention the fact that once you pay the $70 your card will be charged a $65 monthly subscription fee as well. Don't waste your time or your money! I would have given them zero stars if that was an option.
I am concerned about my 8 year old dog leaving small urine spots when she gets up from resting. The response I got after a very thorough questioning was thoughtful and complete.
Check out was quick, connected with a vet fast. She gave a good recommendation and I'm hoping this will help till we are able to see our normal vet on Monday (it's Saturday afternoon) if symptoms haven't improved. Would definitely use again for after hours help.
Dr. B was very thorough and took time to answer all my questions. She reassured me about my cat's safety with the medication in question, which relieved my fear greatly!
I will definitely use site again if needed.
Dr. Paul was very helpful and friendly taking care of my Yorkie's clogged nose. She gave very good suggestions. I would go this path again with as long as my boy doesn't have any serious issues that can't be handled over the phone or Internet.
Dr. Patsy Fields was kind and attentive when she helped me. She even check in the next day to see how we were doing. Plus My cat is feeling much better!
Our puppy got into a succulent that I didn't think he could reach. They asked some questions & determined that it was only mildly toxic & told me what to look for. I'm happy to say Tanner had no ill effects.
My 8 month old dog ate some Halloween candy. Dr. Scott was kind, empathetic and reassuring. He gave me solid and clear information. Just Answer has helped me twice with great care, and much better than rushing to an expensive vet visit.
I cannot say enough good about the experience. Within minutes I had a vet on the line giving expert advice for my new puppy. She gave us peace of mind which you can't put a price tag on but that only cost me $5 for this visit. Wow fast friendly professional all at the same time!
Cat was spayed a few weeks ago, site recently started appearing inflamed. Cat is generally skittish and the crate causes her extreme anxiety. She is still eating and drinking but I wanted to find out if the situation needed intervention. Ask a Vet gave me some OTC treatment directions which I can try before stressing her more with another crated trip.
After answering a few questions, I was connected with a vet with over 50 years experience. My dog had thrown up 2 meals and is weak. He gave me simple directions to follow over the next day or so.
Was woke up with my cat crying in pain.
Got on line and found this site to help my male cat. Received good advice from the Veterinarian which helped me not panic.
Was so nice to be able to chat with a vet after our dog ate milk chocolate on Christmas Eve night. The advice the doctor gave took care of it without us having to worry during this holiday time.
I didn't know any service like Ask A Veterinarian existed. Through this service I was able to have my questions answered and address my dog's problem with at home care rather than visit an emergency after hours vet. Great resource.
Very polite and knowledgeable
Made do-able recommendations
Able to purchase medicine easily. Thank you for being there and letting me have the ability to take care of my pet without having to wait or pay super high costs
Very helpful and I love they give a choice of chatting or phone call. Gave me great procedures to do next. Reassuring as a pet owner I will defiantly use this service again. Thank You. "Boy" & Me
I just needed some housing/ESA advice from a licensed veterinarian. I got one of the best ones who gave me not only advice, but different avenues to explore for help. I was impressed with her knowledge and kindness.
I was only seeking advice for one of our flock, whom we believed may have dislocated her leg. With the online evaluation, the vet determined she most likely pulled some tendons instead. Kindness, compassion and love, along with some aspirin and poultry vitamins during an isolation of 2 weeks was recommended.
Thank you 😊
She was amazing! Both as a vet and a caring human being. I would love to give her an update and even though not enough, would like to say thank you! Just some details: someone on our Facebook group posted about finding this kitten/cat (unsure) with its tail hanging off super super skinny with a swollen face and very lethargic. We had an appointment the very next day for him when he crashed. We woke to find him unresponsive, cold, barely breathing and his little heart was beating super fast then super slow. She helped us to keep him alive till we reached our vets. Thanks to her he has a fighting chance.
Dr. Brazil was wonderful. And they're taking my cat seriously which is awesome. I didn't feel rushed talking to him. He was very calm and explained what probably we should do.
My Golden Retriever ate a bag of dog medicine (to her mind some tasty treats). I was connected with Dr. Bolton who assessed the situation, provided reassurance she would be okay, and gave me steps to relieve her discomfort. He was empathetic and professional.
My dog has been experiencing some stomach troubles the last couple of days and started showing blood in his stool so I began to get very worried. I am a full time student and work full time so it's hard to make appointments with our vet. Dr. Porter was amazing! Told me what the issue most likely is based on my dogs symptoms and different recommendations to help as well.
My 6 mo dachshund puppy presented with a round red mark on his underbelly. We were immediately worried about all the worst possibilities, Ringworm, Lyme... etc. A Google search only intensified our anxiety. I'm so glad I stumbled across this just answer service. Erica asked all the questions and provided professional and expert level attention to my inquiry. For a much more reasonable fee, I was able to get answers about my dog's small red mark and it was priceless to then be able to have peace of mind until we can connect with our family vet on Monday.
I recently noticed a lesion on my dog's back and, like any pet parent, immediately started to worry. Being able to connect with a vet quickly—without the cost of an in-person visit that can feel like a mortgage payment—was such a relief.
The vet took the time to really understand what was going on, asked thoughtful questions, and gave me clear guidance right away. I didn't feel rushed or dismissed, which meant a lot.
Now I have peace of mind knowing my baby girl is going to be okay, and I didn't have to put her (or myself) through an unnecessary trip to the clinic. This service is incredibly convenient, affordable, and reassuring. Highly recommend for any pet parent who needs quick, reliable advice!
The initial contact with the Just Answer vet assistant was positive. She asked for the details of my situation and, from them, distilled my two basic questions, which she then transferred to the vet. After asking for a little more clarification, Dr Nikko provided me with all the info I need to make an informed decision on preventive meds for our dog. In addition, he provided a summary of our call so I can print it out for my records. Incredible service! I truly appreciate this new resource that I've discovered today and would recommend Just Answer to other "pet parents."
My partner and I are traveling through the northwest in a motor home. My dog had been treated by her regular vet for both Lyme disease and an anal gland infection just before we left. This morning she was shivering and when I brushed along her right side she screamed in pain. Being nearly 1000 miles away from her regular vet, it was great to have Ask a Veterinarian available to explore what might be going on with her.
I was contacted by Dr. Davis via return call, and he addressed all my concerns with the cat who belongs to my neighbor but keeps coming around my house to be let in to "relax." She is an older kitty, and I am a senior citizen myself, so we get along really well. Dr. Davis had a lot of suggestions to explore with an onsite or local vet, as Mittens is going to need lab work and vaccinations to resolve her skin issues resulting in loss of fur and itching. He gave me resources and phone numbers to contact. Dr. Davis was very congenial and helpful. I appreciate his expertise with cats.
We needed some advice about our Golden retriever and sudden digestive issues. Dr. Altman gave us good advice as to what to watch for and how to ease her back into being able to eat. He asked good questions which elicited responses from me that gave him more information about what might have caused the problem in the first place. I would definitely recommend this service!
Dr Porter was kind, helpful, caring and understanding. He explained things that I was able to understand. I just wish there was a sliding scale or something for those of us who don't have much income.
I contacted about my dog dropping eye, I got some answered that may help but if the problem persists I need to see a vet. He was courteous and compassionate. An replied to me very quickly
Dr. Sandra is very attentive and thorough. Not afraid to ask hard questions and tell you immediate steps to get your pet (a dog in my case) on track to feeling better. Thinks outside the box. Dr. Sandra is very caring as well. Showing how much she truly cares after treatments and follow-up care. She deserves way more than the 5 stars I'm allowed. She's awesome.
I needed a quick answer on what was safe to use on my two cats and dog upon discovering fleas they inherited from the rescue kittens in our garage. Our animals are indoor only (only to go outside for potty and small runs or walks with mom & dad). We have never had fleas before and I needed immediate help that would be safe for our babies. Signing up was easy, answers were fast and I would recommend using this application to others in need, especially after hours.
The Vet answered all my questions gave me some at home recommendations and even suggested they would follow up within the next day if I had any additional questions
Dr Andy addressed my cat's issues with a believable diagnosis and what steps to take next. I appreciated his frankness when it came to an unwelcome possibility if the original diagnosis proved incorrect from the results of an abdominal ultrasound. Thank you for being of service!
Quick response. Felt better that she requested a picture of her eye (red and swollen). Gave clear instructions on immediate things I could do. Much better than having to drag her out. She HATES cars
My dog is having trouble holding his urine which is not like him. Im on vacation so I was a little worried but I got a few thoughts on what it could be as well as recommendations for local vets. Very happy with this service.
Just Answer answered(!) my call and the vet contacted me within minutes while I had been on hold for almost 20 minutes with another animal poison control agency which never got to me. Dr. Nimmo was reassuring, confident and knowledgeable as well as pleasant and utterly professional. I will use again, good value for the minimal cost.
This veterinarian is obviously familiar with live stock guardian dogs such as Great Pyrenees and their habits. She offer sensible advice for helping integrate a young very large puppy into our pack without him eating our furniture. This is great.
This is the second time I've used these services over chat. Both incidents were addressed quickly and directly with a clearly caring tone. I answered the initial fact gathering questions and was then passed over to a veterinarian who asked follow-up questions and quickly gave reassuring advice that put my mind at ease.
Our dog Beau developed some red bumps on his inner thigh. We are currently traveling and do not know vets in this area. Dr. Porter was amazing in diagnosing, prescribing, and walking us through everything we need to do for our fur baby. This is a wonderful service online!
It was great. The vet game me a chance to type, considered what I was saying, also took time to provide answers and suggestions. Overall 5 stars. Thanks!
They asked for specific information and got back to me within minutes. Dr was very clear in answering my
Concerns. Told us to take our dog to an emergency vet as soon as possible.
I liked being able to discuss the problem without bias of seeing my big dog (some vets are scared of her). Thankfully, we decided this is a wait and see problem, not a go to the vet hospital problem. Just talking it through made me feel much better. Thank you so much.
I was Leary at first, because, this month, I've already had 3 scams in a row had taken me for almost half of my government income! I spend for my dog before taking care of my own needs and this website has gone above average to assist for a fraction of what a vet would charge for a regular standard visit, not to mention, an emergency room visit. The Doctor CJ Sutton was great! She was very clear and concise and did not seem rushed to see her next patient.
Great experience. Dr took almost 20 minutes to inquire, discuss and recommend advice for my kitty. I followed up with my vet who agreed on the scan, labs and switching to a different food.
I was worried about my dog being lethargic. I searched online and found Ask a Vet. I paid the fee and was connected with a very in less than 5 minutes. He asked several questions and then offered suggestions. Hopefully, our not will be back to normal soon!
My dog had eaten an oatmeal raisin cookie and I have always been told how toxic grapes & raisins are for dogs. Doctor addressed all concerns and told me signs and symptoms for which to be watching. Great help!
Alex was super responsive and practical. Listened to all the details of my scenario and gave me great advice. It's so frustrating these days how most medical offices both for humans and animals are so "hands-off" and driven by protocols instead of really caring about people!(and animals). I actually work in the field of human health and it's so nice to be treated the way I would treat a patient. My dog is very very important to our family and getting a quick answer in a potentially dangerous situation gave me so much peace but also helped to guide me and do the right things for her. This is a great service and I am so grateful!
Dr Scott answered all of my questions & validated my actions. He gave me very pertinent information about toxicity levels and chemical actions in body so that could understand his recommendations & be comfortable with them. Dr Scott also made himself available if I had any followup questions or concerns. I will definitely use him in the future if needed. He is now one of my favorites!
The vet was very helpful in assessing the situation and even prognosis based on the symptoms post treatment of blowfly fly strike on a severely under developed kitten actively rejected by mom. To lay the back story I care for a feral colony that I'm actively TNR of the colony. Only 1 queen remains unspayed and had a litter of kittens. I witnessed mom growling and pushing away one of her kittens and knew some was definitely wrong. The kitten is 8 weeks old had been transitioning to solid food but still nursing but at 8 weeks was only 1.1 lbs should be around and even over 2 lb by this age. I rescued the kitten only to find it likely had been rejected by mom longer than I knew. Mom stopped cleaning it and it wasn't able to clean itself yet and likely feces stuck in fluffy hair lead to blowfly strike and egg hatch on the kitten's rear. Blowfly larvae are 3 times larger than standard maggots and they had migrated into both anus and vaginal opening. Upon rescue I didn't initially notice the vaginal intrusion of the larvae, and thought I was seeing roundworms hanging out of the kittens anus, so I immediately administered Pyrantel Pamoate at the tiny dose for a 1 lb kitten, that seemed to boost its appetite after just a few hours. Later when I went to clean it's behind now at home in crate I saw a blowfly larvae that fell out, the worms I was seeing sticking out wasn't roundworm but the tips of blowfly larvae sticking out to breathe. Then I witnessed one sticking out of its vaginal opening. I was lucky I had nitenpryam on hand as it's a well known effective treatment for all flystrike types. The difficulty though was that it's not supposed to be administered to kittens less than 2 lbs. So I did some research and found USDA guidance on dosing accurately for this kittens size which was just halving the cat nitenpryam tablet careful as closely as possible. I knew it was risky but if I left it untreated the kitten would likely not recover, but there was a risk this small a kitten might not survive the medication either. Fortunately it did tolerate the medication, the USDA guidelines for flystrike treatment with Nitenpryam is one initial dose followed by an equal dose 6 hours later which is exactly what I followed and it worked all blowfly larvae fell out 7 in total within just about 4 hours. Next was my new fear, secondary infection. I reached out to Just answers to get a veterinarians opinion on the case. The kitten had survived this far but now with vaginal puss discharge was worried I was seeing the early stages of secondary infection with no antibiotics on hand. However the kitten was happy go lucky which argued against a systemic infection. In describing all the details the Dr. Explained that it likely was a local mild infection and told me what to watch for as time passes to know if a full vet visit was necessary. Fortunately the Dr was correct it appears, now the next day and drainage is decreasing, swelling and discoloration is decreasing, and the kitten is learning to clean herself for the first time without mom. Her appetite is even stronger and she is even more active. Her meow is quieter, but I think that's because at rescue she cried a lot the first 24 hours and literally wore her voice out. She's much more comfortable now in her recovery crate with food water, litterbox and bed and importantly no flys and humid hot conditions like outside where she came. I'm super happy with the help I received and felt more comfortable with hearing what to watch for as she progresses in her recovery.
My chicken was sick and I called the vet and was pleased with the helpful answers the doctor gave. I will recommend AI Veterinarians to my neighbors, and friends.
My dog had symptoms of an ear infection. I'm disabled and getting him to a vet is somewhat difficult. I searched the internet for, over the counter remedies and was totally overwhelmed. While scrolling, an advert for, Ask A Veterinarian. The entire experience was just so easy. I answered a few simple questions and the vet recommended a rinse to clean the ear and a medication to fight the infection and offer some pain relief. I went to the closest pet supply and found the recommended products and began treatment. It's the second day of treatment and it's obvious he's much more comfortable and isn't shaking his head or pawing at his ear. I highly recommend. BTW, I'm not related to the vet. Just a coincidence that we have the same last name.
I was in a panic rushing my dog to the ER because she ate a few DayQuil. The vet talked me through how much she ate and how big she was to know she really had not had a dangerous amount! To know all that and be able to not go in for a $500 evaluation was amazing! And gave me peace of mind.
The vet that I was connected with was very patient and knowledgeable. I felt that she cared about me and our pet duck! She also provided great guidance and recommendations.
From the first ask to the transfer to a Vet and the conversation with Dr. Ivana the experience was quick and reassuring! I recommend both the site and Dr. Ivana.
Info and timely response was very helpful. Professional and detailed response helped me to feel confident in managing this situation. Thanks for your professional advice.
But my terrier ate one anyway. I've learned he would've had to have eaten 1.5cups of onions for his Weight but was told what symptoms to be aware of with this one ring. It was quick, easy and reassuring.
When our Vizsla, Roo, started throwing up and wouldn't eat, Eva asked me specific questions about her condition, where Roo had been, other dogs she'd been in contact with, routines, etc. Although Eva couldn't give me a precise answer, we narrowed it down to a handful of reasons Roo might be vomiting. Eva told me what signs to watch for that would mean taking her to the vet. And she also suggested some food to ease Roo's discomfort. Luckily, everything resolved itself (Roo had eaten a bunch of grass!) but it was really reassuring to connect with someone who could provide instant feedback.
