TERRIBLE SERVICE! I'D GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD!
I ordered 4 faux beams from ArchitecturalDepot.com on January 25,2026. At the time of purchase, the estimated DELIVERY window provided was February 2 – February 4. This timeline was a critical part of my shopping decision because the beams were intended to be used to build a wedding ceremony arch for a wedding the second week of March.
On February 4th, I received an email stating the item was "in production but running late" with a new SHIP date of February 10th (note: this changed from a delivery estimate to only a ship estimate). The very next day, February 5th, I received another email contradicting the previous (February 10th) update, now the beams were on BACKORDER, not in production as previously stated, and the new ship date was moved to March 3rd. That same message suggested contacting them if I needed something sooner because similar products might be available.
Because of the wedding timeline, I called immediately and explained the situation to a customer service representative. I clearly stated these beams were for a wedding arch and that a March 3rd ship date would not leave enough time for construction. She told me she understood and offered to substitute different beams that were described as "already in stock and ready to go." On her recommendation, I remained on hold while she verified this with the warehouse. After she confirmed availability, I accepted the substitution she recommended and received a revised order confirmation.
The new order confirmation stated "usually ships in 10–12 business days." When I asked about this, she assured me it was an automatic system message and that the replacement beams would ship within the week once a freight carrier pickup was scheduled.
Despite those assurances, the order continued to be delayed. Because the updated invoice referenced a 10–12 business day shipping window, I decided to wait until February 18th to check again (10 days after the new order was placed). When I called on February 18th, I was told there was another delay and that the new ship date would be February 20th. When I expressed my frustration about the delay, I was told the beams were put through production as a quality control measure and that they would be out of production by the end of the day, the following morning at the latest. Because of this, the 20th was the earliest they could schedule a truck for pickup. On the evening of February 19th, I received another email, moving the ship date once again. This time, the ship date moved to February 24th. Absolutely frustrated, I waited. On February 25th, I checked the order status and it showed that the expected ship date was still February 24th. I once again called to get the correct status and the customer service rep told me she would contact the warehouse and find out what was going on and email me with a status update. Shortly after that phone call, I received the email and it stated that the order was now expected to ship March 2nd.
At that point, frustrated and angry, I immediately called back and told them I wanted to cancel the order because the beams wouldn't arrive in time for use to construct the arch before the wedding. The individual I spoke with told me the order could not be canceled because the items were custom order items and once they enter production, they can't be cancelled. Keep in mind, the original "custom" beams I ordered were cancelled because of a backorder issue and replaced with in stock, ready to ship items. I attempted to explain more than once the constant problems I've encountered with this order only to be repeatedly told there was nothing they can do, once a custom order enters production, it can't be cancelled.
My experience with architectrualdepot.com has been nothing but disappointing. This experience has been clouded with multiple conflicting status updates (on backorder vs. in stock vs. in production), repeated shipping delays, and assurances that ultimately amounted to nothing. Finally, the most recent (possibly fictious) expected ship date makes this product impossible to use for the upcoming wedding giving it zero value to me.
Based on my experience, I strongly recommend that anyone needing faux beams or similar architectural products research alternative suppliers before ordering from architecturaldepot.com. Especially if you have a firm timeline or event deadline that cannot move.
