I sent them my request on August 14th last year. I paid $800 for "expedited service." Today, 5 weeks later, and only after I have made dozens of calls to them, they tell me the "engineer" just tried to fix your drive and it doesn't work.

They had been telling me the engineer was extracting data and everything looked good, just stringing me along and wasting my time. This is after five weeks and expedited service!

The absolute worst customer service imaginable. Kris Nordberg never would call, unless I called him. He never had any details, only that a "whole team of engineers" was working on it! Oh, and he was "upset" it was taking so long! HE WAS UPSET!

So very disappointing. I will be disputing the charge and letting the Better Business Bureau know of these crooks!

I sent Amlbot a clients hard drive with these instructions. Take the data off this 250 gig hard drive. Put it on a new external usb hard drive. Then send me both drives back.Thats it. Let me know how much for this service. That way my client gets his data back and can use it as a backup drive for his other computers. On the internet Fields advertising says 199.00 dollars for data recovery. They received my clients drive. I was given a quote of 400 dollars, then 800 dollars, plus an external usb hard drive would be an additional 90.00 dollars. I told them to just send the drive back. I will use a different data recovery service. I was then given a quote of 425.00 for everything, that means the data recovery and the new usb external hard drive. I agreed to it. I used paypal to pay the 425.00.
I was sent a usb thumb drive with my clients data in a zip format. I told them where is the new external usb drive? Where is my clients original drive? Fields told me they didnt charge me for the new drive. I then told them you have my original request. We made an agreement of 425.00 for everything. They told me i would have to give them another 90 dollars for a new hard drive. I had enough of their money goughing at this time. I then demanded the original drive back. It was sent a week later.
Im not satisfied with Amlbot. I wouldnt recommend their services to anyone else. I been in tech support and computer repair for 19 years. Never been deceived like this..

When I told the guy that called that I couldn't justify taking $700 dollars from my family out of my teacher check to recover files that I could eventually waste my time and redo. I was rudely cut off and asked how I wanted it returned, I said regular mail is fine. What I must have forgot to tell him is that I also wanted it returned unbroken even more than it was (which it was only damaged on the inside, the bar that reads the data was broken). I just received it in the mail and when I opened it up, the tower that I sent to them was literally in 4 pieces, broke, with the guts out of the tower flopping around in the box. If anybody wants pictures just send me an email with TOWER RETURN as the title to: *******@yahoo
As a teacher I don't make a lot of money but wanting to charge me $700 to get files that I was told by a tech guy that it should cost between $300 and $400 and then to disrespect my property like that WOW. I'm sure all my files are definitely all gone now. Thank for nothing Amlbot.

Broke/sad customer!
March 7, 2026

I did get my data BUT... don't let the "from" $199 suck you in. YOUR drive will be "far more difficult than originally thought." So it's not $199 it's $1204! Then when you ask what they did. They won't tell you. It took many emails to get any answer what so ever. They promise to return your original drive in 7 - 10 days. That was back in June (it is now August) and I am still waiting. My contact Josh Carter won't even return my emails! This has been very frustrating. Once they have your data... you basically HAVE to do what ever they say it you want a chance at getting it restored! Broke/sad customer!

Their marketing is misleading. The free diagnostics they provide result in a less than 50% success rate according to the Account Manager I spoke with. That means you might get a file list of recoverable data prior to being hit with a bill 50% of the time. Their marketing should read that 50% of cases require further diagnostics that start at $495. This was my experience. Now I'm waiting to receive my drive back to send it to the manufacturer for a recovery...

This company is a rip off. They trick the consumer with low prices quotes. When I complained and wanted my product sent back, the agent, threatened that I wouldn't see my product for two weeks. And they tried to bill me for returning my HD's. If they have tampered with my HD's they will see me in court after I file a complaint with the Attorney General. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
PS. I asked to have my HD's returned. In the process of extracting the data they destroyed my HD's. The price quote was outlandish and they first told me it was just a quote, $200 each, but they ruined my property, then sent it back to me. Their attitude was arrogant, as if no one else was as cheap, and they had a corner on the market. DO NOT EVEN GO NEAR THIS COMPANY!

Beware: This company is scam UK and their US website points to the UK Trust pilot account with false positive reviews.

Two months ago I had one of the worst things happen. A failed hard drive. One that contained my entire music collection and photos from the past 15 years. All gone. I searched the web for data recovery services and happened to do the online estimate at Field Data Recovery. I was called by them later in the day about sending in my drive and I would know within 24-48 hours if they could retrieve my files from the drive. I never heard from them. I called and was told they were close and I should hear something within 24-48 hours from them. Still I never heard back from them. I figured they were working on it and gave them a week and called back. Once again they had no details and I was told I would hear from them in 24-48 hours. Never heard from them. I let another week pass and called again. I got the exact same response as I got the first two times. Yet again after the 24-48 I heard nothing. I gave them another week and called again. This time the person in charge of my drive was unavailable (in a meeting). The person answering the phones kept interrupting and cutting me off (I guess she did not want to hear me complain as I am sure they get a lot of that, but seriously how rude). I finally was able to ask to speak with a manager and he came on the phone, apologized, told me a little more about the condition of the drive and then once again told me I would hear something from them in 24-48 (it has been 24 hours and I don't believe that I will hear back from them tomorrow). Everything I have read about this company is telling me that they pull this crap and keep your files hostage so you pay exorbitant prices once they finally get back to you. Don't listen to them when they say 24-48 hours, as this is apparently 4 plus weeks for these guys. I have no confidence in this company to live up to any of their promises made on their site or on the phone. With the way they treated me and handled my case I would never, ever recommend that anyone use their services. Period. Go somewhere else.

UPDATE: They are trying to have this review removed even though their own site points to these reviews. Try running an honest company showing honest reviews like this one. Apparently the UK and US are indeed the same company that is now trying to pull this crap off in Europe and Asia. The TrustPilot reviews on their website and facebook pages are false. Beware. After being jerked around for over a month I finally hear back and they are asking for $820. Not happening. I can't afford it and even if I could I would NOT give them any money with the way they treated me. I have asked to have my drive returned to me. But after reading more reviews (not associated with their bogus TrustPilot account) I feel I will never get the drive back either. Stay away from these people in all countries. Google them if you don't believe me. Wish I had done more research before trusting in TrustPilot and going down this road..

Please don't try recovery in Amlbot.
I paid $640 and waited for 6 weeks.
I heard "Unfortunately Our processes were unsuccessful in recovering any data from your hard drive. Please accept our apologies that no recovery possible".
And they just sent some images that show my hard drive and let me know "we will return your device ASAP".

I don't know how people got their recovered data and give a good review.
In my experience, don't choose to send the drive to 1010 Market Street, Suite 590, St. Louis, MO *******.
In initial diagnosis, he said he couldn't detect any visible damage except one part of it, so he suggested me to try repair the drive with new parts for a damaged part and I agreed with it.
And now he said he couldn't recover because of more damage in the parts of my drive.
In his summary, nothing will be recovered.

Be careful with recovery rate that they inform.
It doesn't mean anything with the real data recovery.
So please don't try to waste your money and time!

Do Not work with these people they stole or would not return my hardware and $600. I sent 2 drives 1 good and identical 1 bad (Dropped on floor-mechanical issue). There was nothing wrong with the platters yet FDR failed to retrieve any info and only returned 1 drive. Not returning my 2nd drive is theft! It is larceny to keep a customers property. Any recommendations how to press charges? I am doing everything to hold FDR accountable and disputed payment on the $600. There was significant personal confidential info on that drive! Help Hold this Company Liable for their Actions!.

Awful sales tactics
February 14, 2026

Not sure if this was a misunderstanding or what, but all ended up being a total scam. The account manager and sales person I was dealing with told me that the recovery don't care about windows installation or software, but only photos, videos or other media which is what most people want to recover. I asked if she could ask engineers to tell me if there I any photo/image files, she got back to me and told me there were hundreds of pictures so I decided to move forward. I signed an agreement of "no refund under any circumstances" which I did believing that if I take the risk, at least must be something in there. For my surprise I only got windows installation files, and that's it. The only images found were from windows wallpapers. I'm so mad at this for the fact of the lie, if they just told me you have to take the risk, I wouldn't care that much. I felt awful and lost $960 US dollars. I asked and called them and never returned my call back. I don't trust them and you shouldn't either.

My experience Amlbot.com

I mailed in my hard drives, they gave me an accurate guess on when the drive would be returned.

I got my footage back in a format that was unusable. As a professional wedding cinematographer, none of the footage was able to be opened or viewed at all.

When I called again to see if there was anything else to be found on the drives...
They transferred my call twice(both representatives had bad customer service and acted like they didn't want to talk to me at all) and told me that I needed to mail in the hard drive they sent me with the unusable footage to process it any further.(This is the tenth time I have called to get this sorted out)

Then Emily(the representative) put me on hold while I was mid sentence asking a question.
5 minutes later she returned and told me she had to talk to her manager and ignored my question about having my hard drives mailed back to me. She then proceeded to hang up. (She is my account manager)

I am sharing this with you after we had purchased this data recovery option for $2400. If you are missing information, I highly recommend finding someone else to do it based on my experience so far(I still haven't hear anything back from the manager about having my personal hard drives mailed back to me).

We are raising a serious public complaint against AMLBot (Safelement Ltd.) regarding the conduct and mishandling of a fraud investigation case. We signed a contract governed by New York law, paid $3,500 for crypto asset tracing and legal support, and were misled by an individual using the name Alex, who claimed to be an official AMLBot agent.

AMLBot has failed to deliver results, has not responded to multiple follow-ups, and continues to avoid responsibility for the fake contract, misleading reports, and lack of accountability from their representatives. This includes hiring an alleged lawyer named "Natalia," who is not a licensed attorney and provided no verification or meaningful assistance.

We demand AMLBot clarify its internal practices, investigate how its platform was used to defraud clients, and issue a refund with damages. We are preparing further legal action. The public is advised to exercise caution when dealing with AMLBot or any of its so-called "authorized agents."
