Rain water got through my car cover and left my car wet is this normal

Seal skin covers do not last. Mine made it about 8 months before the waterproofing peeled off. HOrrible covers.

When new, it did not leak any water through the cover, now that it is 2 yeas old it does. The outer layer is deteriorating and I am returning it under warranty for a new cover.
