To address your qualms about your personal information being available online I can tell you that only the verified members of your Nextdoor neighborhood can see your name or address. Other Nextdoor members outside of your Nextdoor neighborhood can not see or search for your information on Nextdoor. We have also disabled online search engines from culling data from our website. That means that you can not google your name or address and come back with a hit from Nextdoor.

While we cannot give you information about how often our member misuse the platform I can tell you that we have a set of Community Guidelines and a Member Agreement that every member agrees to, and we have a way to report members who violate these guidelines. Our customer support agents respond to all reports within 24 hours.

Horrible! They have people that don't read your posts and jump to conclusions and ban you! I was expressing concern over having muslims in our city council- and voting out the people in our city council and without notice was banned and reported to my church! It was a complete misunderstanding- but I am allowed to talk about voting! That is not a violation of anything
RUN and I hope we find something better not run by people like this

Your hesitation is more than justified. Don't join. There are many horror stories regarding this very issue out there.
