Hello! This is from the Fabletics team. We know that this question was raised years ago, but we would like to address it.

Regarding your concern, our Member Services department can assist via Live Chat or by phone if preferred: https://www.fabletics.com/help/faq.

You are only charged if you don't hit the "skip this month" button from the 1st to the 5th of the month. If you choose to skip a month you are not charged. If you don't skip the month and you don't order, they charge your card and it goes into a "credit" for future ordering. It is plain and simple. I have ordered some months and skipped others. That's all you have to do. It has been extremely easy for me.

They store your credit card number upon ordering and in te fine print have signed you up for the VIP membership. It's obsurd. No company will last doing shouty business like this. No one likes to be tricked by the fine print FABLETICS. If you carried a decent product maybe people would stay. But they fit horrible too.

Once they have your credit card details they are able to keep charging your credit card, even if you have not placed an order. I cancelled my credit card with my bank in the end as like many others I could not get through to the customer service centre to cancel my membership. If you have nothing better to do than to look out for your monthly emails to "skip the month" then it's probably not such a problem but some of the reviews have said that even when they skipped the month their credit card still got charged. My advice is avoid at all costs. This is by far the worst on-line shopping experience I have ever had.

Because they are crooks. Even if you don't sign up for the VIP people have complained that they get signed up anyway without their knowledge or consent.

Because they charge you $49.95 and leave that money in your Fabletics account so you use it as a credit. I did not know about this, so I did not go to their site after my purchase. However, they kept charging me every month and I was not using that "credit". They AUTOMATICALLY sign you up for that after your first purchase. And keep your bank account info (even credit cards) to continue withdrawing money from your account EVEN when you change or have your credit card replaced. Seriously, it is NOT worth it.

Everything is done over the phone ( I think the call centre isnt even in Canada or the USA!)You have to be diligent. I had to make 9 phone calls to have my money refunded ( product stuck on order being filled at warehouse- only to become out of stock- then never ship not once but 3x! First two calls they tried re-ordering).
Most people just call their credit card company instead bc its easier.

If you sign up for VIP (which is what most people do, so that they can get 50% off their first outfit), you will only be charged $49.95 for the product IF you do not skip within the first five days of the month. If you skip, cool, don't worry about it, you won't get charged. You also could choose to purchase an outfit in the beginning of the month for a discount (but obviously not everyone needs new workout gear every month!) Should you forget to skip, you will be charged the price of one outfit. This is a credit - you will have $49.95 to spend on an outfit. It's up to you to go to the website and pick out what outfit you want. If you don't go choose your outfit, that's on you - you'll be charged and won't receive a product (but the credit will always be there for you to use).
You could also not sign up for VIP and pay full price for the products without having to worry about signing up for a subscription. Ultimately, you should always read the fine print when it comes to subscription services and see if it's something you're up for. If you can't remember every month (set an alarm for the 5th, so you don't forget to skip!) or don't want to add that to your plate, don't do it - or sign up and cancel (BY PHONE!) after you receive your first outfit.
I hope this answered your question thoroughly.

Because they get away with it. Some people (although I'm surprised if it is many) are happy to pay a company to send them nothing. They are happy for a company to take money every month as a "credit note" towards something they might want to buy later. I, was not happy, I demanded my money back and that they take my details off of their records. They did so, after I complained strenuously and threatened them with bad PR. I also demanded that they made their website clearer so that other people were aware of this extremely dodgy practice. This they have not done.
