Why does Disqus blacklist people for doing what their pet all-stars do? All-stars tag someone to harass them, tag the all-stars back and get blacklisted for spamming.

The employee who said he does social experiments also has a degree in psychology so legally and ethically he is supposed to do many things he does not do as an employee of Disqus.

Many of the "All Stars" ( a now defunct system, BTW) in the Disqus channel system were unfortunately tarred and feathered by non all star commenters, thanks to the juvenile antics of a small core group of All Stars, led by G. Martini and Coccyx.

Martini and Coccyx. I had enough of what goes on in the Disqus channel system, thanks to the cliquey and silly behavior of this particular "All Star" group, and another group of non All Star commenters that apparently LIVE to clutter up channels and threads with some feud that has gone on for years between them. Very middle school... A BIG turnoff for me. And, Disqus management apparently will do nothing about this behavior on either side, turning a blind eye to it all. Completely ruined any enjoyment that I used to get from the few REAL discussions that used to be on the Disqus channels. Stay away from Disqus and their so called "discussions" on these "channels". You'll be a happier person...

Well Jeff, which moderator, where? The lack of effective communication tools between the users and the moderators, alongside automatic text content filtration is the perfect recipe for censorship. There is nothing more offensive than censorship and you're remiss and unethical to not distinguish between simply disagreeable commentary, and commentary which violates rules. Yet again your position is subjective and not clearly defined. 'Horrible' treatment to many Disqus moderators is simply disagreeing with them, having an ideologically different view, or beating them with factual positions. I'm more inclined to think that the word 'banned' on Disqus is the exact same thing as censorship. Disqus dropped the ball when they allowed individuals posting reasonable commentary which does not violate rules, to be banned as if they were utilizing spam tools, participating in attack groups, or using actual hateful language. If I was an anonymous poster on Disqus and you were the moderator, I'd bet you'd ban this comment and my IP address, probably also retroactively wiping all of my commentary off of the boards. I know that's a likely possibility, because the rampant abuse is apparent net-wide when daring to excercize free speech on just about any Disqus based blog area. Yours truly, X@, Y@, guestguest, somedude, durden, and the list of banned names under my belt just gets longer and longer. Disqus is a waste of time because their pro censorship tech advancements are getting much worse as the days go by. On that note; What is Disqus's data retention policy for user data? Is there an expiration date to the data they hold on people? You sound like you're an employee of Disqus, perhaps you can shed some light on their policies?

Disqus clearly has an agenda, and they blacklist people who do not fit into that line of thought. They also give carte blanche to people who do.

Perhaps you never paid attention to how horrible you treated posters even as a "moderator"? Think that may have something to do with getting Banned?
