Booking.com
Questions & Answers

When I left Crossroads Best Western Motel in Indianapolis in I gave the hotel a good rating, other than the average breakfast. When my credit card bill came I had been additionally charged $219. For a room I did not use. They first said their auditors would look into it. Nothing. Then they said it was a Booking.com problem. Nothing. I called back ten days or so was told he would look into it. A third call with anger in my voice got action. I have been refunded my money. It took too many weeks and calls by me. All the manage wanted was to get his $20 fee back from Booking for the reservation, and put my need at the bottom of his list. Was it indeed a Booking.com mistake? You took the blame.

Its nonsense for anyone to think that a hotel will take a booking with no security at all. You would end up with an empty hotel and no income. I wont take booking.com bookings any longer as their customer base is unreliable and got too many late cancellations and no shows. Rather not have them.

I'd recommend you read the reviews. I will never use Booking.com again. There are many others. I used Expedia and have no complaints.

If the customer cancels or if I put them in as a no show booking.com should not charge anyone anything. Don't like paying them 15 percent commission when I do get a booking from them. I think that is criminal. You have to charge booking.com customers much more in order to offset the 15% charge. It's far far to much to be taking off the top, specially for small places but they monopolise the search engines so little the small man/woman can do. Use them as a search engine then try and book direct. Nearly always cheaper. Booking.com according to themselves when I'm dealing with them never take money from the customers as they are getting 15% from the accommodation provider.

Nearly all the hotels on the site say they don't take any money until you check in/out. The odd one may want to pre-authorize your card. This means they put a hold on the money(to ensure you have funds) they state this. The money is normally reinstated back to your account within 10 days but they do say this. The issue really is when the hotel decides to take the money straight away, when they shouldn't, especially if you cancel within the free cancellation policy time. You have to jump through so many hoops and provide sensitive information to get your money back, which normally take a couple of weeks.

They take credit card details when booking. When you arrive they ask sometimes for cash on arrival if the place your staying is one of the smaller hotels

Hi, we booked an apartment in Spain - Loret de Mar and it says that internet is free Wifi is available in all areas and it is free of charge. In fact there was no Wifi available at no time during our stay. Can I claim a refund?

Booking will take your cc and pay themselves even if you cancel and the hotel books the room to someone else instantly. That is why you should never use them. They are criminals.
